As the co-founder of the non-profit SafeandSoundSchools.Org, Michele has built a reputation as one of the foremost leaders on best practices in school safety. Her passion for this work stems from her background as a special education teacher and lived experience as a mother who lost her daughter at Sandy Hook Elementary on December 14, 2012.

Biography
Over the years, Michele has built a network of subject matter experts and knowledge base that is tremendously beneficial to schools evaluating school safety protocols, school construction through the lens of school safety, and current best practices. She has been recognized for her work by the United States Secret Service, FBI, Association of School Business Officials, and more. She also serves on numerous national committees and boards with a focus on school safety and mental health.
