
Kim’s experience in crisis and disaster communications in schools and communities spans nearly 15 years. In 2011, As the Executive Director of Communications for the Joplin Schools, Joplin MO, she was responsible for successfully leading the post-disaster communications, volunteer, and donations effort following the Joplin Tornado.

Biography
This included managing over 8,000 individual donations, tens of thousands of volunteer hours, managing local, state, national, and international media, and coordination with the Missouri Governor’s Office and the White House to facilitate visits from every level of government, including the President of the United States.
Kim continues using her experience and expertise to support school district communication efforts across the country through the non- profits SafeandSoundSchools.Org and BrightFuturesUSA.Org.
